Arthur A. Arnold

Arthur A.”Art” Arnold, age 92, of Reading, formerly of Fleetwood passed away on February 9, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services in Sinking Spring. He was the husband of the late Joyce M. (Miller) Arnold who had passed on August 29, 1994.

Arthur was born on October 31, 1920 in Temple. The son of the late Howard Arnold and the late Lottie (Kramer) Arnold.

He was a U S Army veteran of World War II. A member of Horace Kieffer American Legion Post 625 Fleetwood. A member of St. John’s Gernant’s Lutheran Church, Leesport.

Arthur had been employed as a truck driver for the former Garden State Tannery in Fleetwood for 13 ½ years retiring in 1985. During his retirement he worked many years as a part time press operator at H. O. Foose Tinsmithing Co. in Fleetwood. His favorite things to do, were watching his great grandson’s play sports and traveling with the Senior Citizen’s on their bus trips.

Surviving are his daughter’s Kathryn D. (Arnold) Wanner of Fleetwood and Kim D. (Arnold) wife of Thomas Albrecht of Glen Burnie, MD. Three grandchildren Kelly D. (Wanner) Blankenbiller of Oley and Tracy L. (Wanner) wife of Kery Reifsnyder of Fleetwood and Jillian M. Albrecht of Glen Burnie Four great grandsons Gavin R.Blankenbiller, Garet K.Blankenbiller, Brock D. Reifsnyder and Chase O. Reifsnyder. Other survivors include his friend and companion Laverne M. Arnold of Reading, brother’s Clarence Arnold, Mt. Penn and Warren Arnold of Phoenix, AR. He was preceded in death by his siblings Laura (Arnold) Whelan, Fern (Arnold) Senfit, Richard Arnold, David Arnold and Howard Arnold, Jr.

Funeral services will be Friday February 15th at 11:00AM from the Mae A Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be Friday morning from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. Burial will be in Salem Shalter’s Cemetery, Alsace Township. Contributions can be made to the Special Olympics Pennsylvania, P. O. Box 7000, Philadelphia, PA 19149-0010
