Obituary

Our Dear Friend Alvin Huber Batson Jr passed quietly on Friday, August 6, 2021. A long time resident of Alburtis and Kutztown, he took great pride in his 'Gentleman's Farm' where he enjoyed entertaining friends and family. He had a permanent booth at Renningers Antique Market in Kutztown for many years and was a regular at local auction houses. Customers from all over would regularly stop at his booth to chat and swap antiquing stories.

Born in Elizabeth NJ February 17, 1931, he resided in Elizabeth and Roselle NJ before retiring to Pennsylvania. He taught art classes for the public schools and was an Army Veteran. Last residing at the Keystone Villas of Fleetwood.

Above all, Al treasured his many friends, acquaintances and his family and was a welcome addition to any gathering, always ready with a story of his auction finds and antiquing adventures. He loved his many indoor and outdoor cats and took great care to see they were comfortable.

Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Alvin Huber Batson Sr and Mildred Marie Kern; his Aunt Ruth Kern Schroeder and uncle William Kern; and his uncle William Batson and aunt Martha Batson. His Cousin Richard Kern and family in NJ will miss his kind and loving presence.

Donations in his name can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, 58 Kennel Road Birdsboro, PA 19508.

A private service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Allentown.
