Ann L. Wentzel age 70, of Fleetwood, peacefully passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading on January 15, 2024. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Alfred A. Burgert and Shirley F. (Bossler) Burgert.

Ann was a 1971 graduate of Fleetwood High School. A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Fleetwood and a past member of the Blandon Lioness Club. She retired from East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons after 26 years. Prevoiusly she had been employed for 20 years at the former Fleetwood Shirt Corporation. Ann loved her cats which were all rescued.

She grew up on a farm and loved the country life. Her father was an auctioneer and  enjoyed going to antique markets and finding like items that her father auctioned off and compared the price. Birding was another one of pass times, especially watching for cardinals..

Ann is survived by her children Micah R. Wentzel and Joshua C. Wentzel. Also a brother Steve A. Burgert husband of Caty R. (Adam)  Burgert and niece Abby E. (Burgert) Thorell.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother David Burgert and nephew Aaron Burgert.

A memorial service will be Saturday January 20th at 11:00 AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ann's memory to the Animal Rescue League of berks County, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508
