Obituary

Ardell M. Bergstresser, age 78, of Fleetwood passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday January 24, 2014 surrounded by her family in Berks Heim, Bern Township. She was the wife of Charles H. Bergstresser. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary January 21, 2014.
Born in West Reading on May 23, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Martin H. and Emma C. (May) Hoch.
Ardell was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. She was a 1953 graduate Fleetwood High School. Ardell was very active with youth groups in Fleetwood. She served as a Fleetwood Camp Fire leader for 13 years, a Wbelo's leader of Fleetwood Pack 103 for 4 years, an Assistant Scout Master of Fleetwood Troop 103 for 14 years, and a Committee Member of Explorer post 45 for 14 years. Ardell was awarded the Silver Beaver for her service to Scouting and earned the Wood Badge for her advance training with Scout Council. Ardell also was very involved with the Fleetwood Fire Company Truck Crew as a Lifelong member starting in 1972. She was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award from the Fire Company Truck Crew. She also served as a Fleetwood Ambulance attendant for 10 years.
Ardell was an avid bingo player and love camping, bird watching and traveling with friends in their motorhome.
She was survived by her husband Charles, daughter Belinda M. (Bergstresser) Stoudt wife of Bryan L. Stoudt of Fleetwood and son Charles H. Bergstresser, Jr. husband of Sherri R. (Steck) Bergstresser of Dillsburg. Also 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Lawrence M. Hoch of Oley.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday morning from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Thursday 10:00am to time of service. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Contributions can be made to either the Fleetwood Fire Co. Truck Crew, 16 North Chestnut Street, Fleetwood or the Fleetwood Fire Social Quarters, 101 North Franklin Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522
