Borrell
November 1, 1928 – January 11, 2023
Arthur R. Borrell, age 94, passed away Wednesday morning January 11th at Willow Brook Nursing and Rehabilitation, Kutztown. Arthur was the husband of Joan R. (DeAngelo) Borrell who passed on September 24, 1985. He was born in Fleetwood the son of the late Arthur A. Borrell and Helen M. (Reinert) Borrell.
Arthur was a graduate of Fleetwood High School class of 1946, where he was a member of the basketball and baseball teams. That same year he enlisted
In U S Army Air Corp and served till 1949. He then got a job with Pittsburgh Glass. After a few years he returned to Fleetwood and was hired by Dana Corporation and retired after 30 years.
Arthur was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood. He loved fishing and taking trips to Canada. Hunting was another thing he liked and enjoyed his trips to Montana. His hobby was cabinet making and loved to make gun cabinets and toy boxes. In the summer he played in a softball league with the team at Dick's Service Station.
Arthur is survived by his two sons Jeffery A. Borrell and Dean T. Borrell. Also his two grandchildren Nicole Rothermel and Scott Borrell and five great grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters Dorothy (Borrell) Miller, Joan (Borrell) Bailey and Miriam (Borrell) Rauenzahn. He was recently predeceased by his brother Samuel Borrell.
A viewing will be Saturday the 14 th from 10:00 AM to 11:00Am at the Mae a. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. with Rev. John W. Folk, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Union Cemetery with military honors by the Ray A. Masters Post 217 American Legion Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in memory of Arthur to the American Cancer Society.
