C. Douglas Hanks
C. Douglas Hanks, age 100, Blandon, formerly of Corry, Pa., passed away on September 4, 2024, at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood. He was the husband of the late Norma Jean (TenHuisen) Hanks. Douglas was born, in Clymer, New York, the son of the late David Lester Hanks and Isabelle Josephine (Amidon) Hanks.
A 1942 graduate of Corry High School he was employed by Loblaws Grocery Store in Corry. In 1943 he was drafted into U S Army Air Corps as an air engineer with the 82nd Airborne, serving during the D- Day invasion.
Prior to his retirement he worked at Corry – Jamestown Manufacturing Corporation for 40 years. Doug enjoyed reading about World War II and especially about military aircrafts at that time. Holidays were very special to Doug, a time to be with family. He loved doing word searches,
Doug is survived by his daughter in law Karen Ruth Hanks of Ephrata grandson Todd D. Hanks of West Chester and granddaughter Stacey L. Hanks of Blandon. Also a great granddaughter Emma Rose Hanks.
He was preceded in death by his son Ronald Douglas Hanks and daughter Marcia Lynn Hanks.
Services will be private with burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, PA.
