Carl A. "Sonny" Schlegel, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2025, at his residence at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood. He was the husband of Lois J. (Pruitt) Schlegel, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage on April 17.

Born in Fleetwood, Carl was the son of the late John A. Schlegel and Pearl M. (Schmeck) Schlegel. He was a 1949 graduate of Fleetwood High School and a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. Carl worked as a salesman for the East Penn Merchandiser for 20 years before retiring.

He was a longtime member of Salem Shalters Lutheran Church in Fleetwood. Carl had a passion for raising and showing Quarter Horses and was a dedicated member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He also loved traveling, particularly to Europe and Germany.

Carl is survived by his wife, Lois; his brother, Richard C. Schlegel; his sister, Shirley M. (Schlegel) Seidel; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Joel A. Schlegel.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Bayada Hospice and Keystone Villa at Fleetwood for their compassionate care.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Salem Shalters Lutheran Church, 2032 Mount Laurel Road, Fleetwood, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
