Catherine O. "Kitty" Matthews, age 91, formerly of Kempton passed away on September 30, 2013 in her residence at Arden Court Assisted Living in Allentown.
She was born in Lyons Station on October 7, 1921 the daughter of the late Thomas and Olympia (Alvarez) Reppert.
Kitty was U S Army veteran of World War II serving in the Women's Army Corp for three and a half years.
She had been employed for 25 years out of the Reading Post Office, retiring as the Postmaster of Kutztown.
Kitty was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employee's local Chapter 103 where she served as treasurer for nine year's. She also had been the treasurer of the Fogelsville Senior Citzens for sixteen year's. Served as a volunteer with VITA for ten years.
Her interests were gardening and traveling the world.
Kitty was survived three daughter's Leslie C. (Matthews) Ream of Kempton, Juanita R. (Matthews) Bronstein of Allentown and Pamela T. (Matthews) Baum of Kempton. Other survivors include six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Thomas W. Matthews in 1997..
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 11:00AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers contribution can be made to a charity of your choice.
