Charles J. Marcincavage Sr. 89 years old of Fleetwood, passed away Thursday, April 13th after battling a brief illness. "Charlie" decided to pass peacefully on his own terms surrounded by his family after a brave fight. He was predeceased by his loving wife, "Dottie". He was also predeceased by a brother, Joe, of Wanamie, Pa. He is survived by his son, Charles Jr., wife Jackie and granddaughter, Skyler of Blandon. Also, son John and wife Cathryn of Fleetwood.
After Charlie graduated from Penn State with a degree in engineering, he was drafted and served in the Army. Once discharged, he travelled throughout the world. His favorite assignments included unforgettable stops in both South America and Africa: After returning home, he took a position at Air Products in Allentown. He later finished his career working at Gilbert Associates in Reading, retiring in 1990.
One of Charlie's humble accomplishments was attaining his pilot's license and flying his airplane during the summer for family trips. Charlie had a unique zest for life. His favorite interests included reading a variety of books, golf, skiing, playing the piano and drinking his favorite martini; "STIRRED, not shaken". Charlie will be deeply missed by his family whom welcome friends to celebrate and share memories of Charlie's life Friday April 21st after 6 pm at Charles Jr's home.
