Dale graduated from William Allen High School in 1952.  He served two years on Active Duty in the U.S. Army, working with the Army Security Agency and served in Turkey during the Cold war.  After his active duty service Dale also served in the Army Reserves until 1967.  After his return from Turkey, he received his B.S. in Education from then Kutztown State University.  He also attained an M.S. Throughout his time within the Fleetwood School District, Dale became actively involved in many Fleetwood Athletic Programs.  He led Men's and Women's Tennis teams, and he also coached both Junior Varsity and Varsity Men's and Women's Basketball teams.  His enthusiastic participation within Fleetwood Athletics Program brought him not only great joy but also created for him a lifetime of friends and memories.  His contributions were culminated by his induction into the Fleetwood Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Dale was also very active in his Topton Community, within his church, St. Peter's United Church of Christ, where he served on Church Council and as Treasurer for 34 years.  He was also a member of the Topton Borough Council for 29 years, the last 25 of which as the Borough Council President.  He spent countless hours with the Topton Little league, first as a Dad/Coach and later umpiring and helping to operate the league.  Dale's last service to community was to serve on the boards of Saucony Cross, Wilson Manor and Saucony Meadows.
