David Anthony Kopicz, 46, passed away in his Kutztown home on Thursday, October 5, 2023, following a year long struggle with cancer.  Born in West Reading on March 1, 1977, David was a son of Michael J. and Lynn (Faust) Kopicz.  He was a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School Class of 1995.  In his youth he participated in swim team, youth soccer, Little League baseball, wrestling, and Boy Scouts (Tiger Cubs to Life Scout and Order of the Arrow).  He was a Star Wars and GI Joe enthusiast.  He enjoyed gardening and cooking, especially family pierogi-making day.  He also enjoyed gaming with his EverQuest group of friends and cheering on Penn State Nittany Lions and Cincinnati Bengals football teams.  He was employed by Randy's Trash, last able to work in October 2022.  He previously worked as a cook and bartender at Moselem Springs Golf Club and TC's.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers Jeremy (fiancé of Tricia Pacquin) of Davenport, FL; Michael, Jr. of Kutztown; and his sister Melissa (wife of Brian Wert) of Reading; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He also leaves behind his furry companion Princess Leia now entrusted to the loving home and care of long-time friends Marla and Randy LaFaver.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Harry J. and Elsie G. (Moyer) Kopicz, Robert D. and Jane L. (Witmer) Faust, and his uncle Ronald J. Kopicz.  A celebration of David's life will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Fleetwood Fire Company Banquet Hall, 101 N. Franklin Street , Fleetwood, PA, with Rev.
