Debra Ann Barrell

Jul 25, 1954 — Sep 4, 2026

Debra Ann Barrell, 72, passed away on September 4, 2026, at her residence in Fleetwood, PA. She was born on July 25, 1954, in Fort Knox, KY, a daughter of the late Richard Kintz and the late Janice (Rothermel) Kintz.

Debra was a 1972 graduate of Fleetwood Area High School. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years at Reading Hospital. She was a Brownie leader, a member of the Schuylkill Valley PTA, and a member of the Leesport Recreation Board. Debra loved her dogs, Parker and Zoey, dearly. She was incredibly proud of her daughters and her grandchildren. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend their events, always cheering them on from the sidelines. She showed her happiness and excitement for her family’s wins, big or small, and was comforting and caring when they were feeling down. She was generous with a compliment or encouragement, and she had a kind and forgiving nature. Debra had a love for reading, word games, and jigsaw puzzles, and it made her happy to dance around and sing. She would often show her funloving side by incorporating a family member or dogs name into the song lyrics. For years, she enjoyed family vacation in Ocean City, MD with her parents, daughters, and grandchildren. In her spare time at home, she could be found watching British crime dramas and other mystery shows on tv.

In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Barrell, and her former husband, Steven Barrell.

Debra is survived by her three daughters, Christie Brown, Mary Kunkle and Tricia Barrell; her grandchildren, Abby Kunkle, Kayla Himmelreich, Dominic Barrell-Kobryn, Sophia Barrell-Kobryn, Riley Kunkle, Savannah Brown, Everett Barrell-Kobryn, Aaron Brown, Natalie Barrell-Kobryn, and Harrison Barrell-Kobryn.
