Donald W. Clemens, age 85, of Fleetwood, passed away Sunday evening September 18, 2016 in Penn State Health St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the husband of Gladys L. (Hertzog) Clemens. They celebrated 59 years of marriage on June15th.
Born in Leesport, the son of the late Lloyd Clemens and Mabel (Greulich) Clemens.
Donald was a graduate of Ontelaunee High School class of 1948. After high school he joined the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He retired from East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fleetwood where he served as a past church council member and taught adult Sunday School. He also was a member of the Horace Kieffer American Legion Post 625 where he served as a past post commander. He was also a long time member of the Breakfast Brothers.
Don's favorite pass time was going to his Delaware shore home and traveling on AAA tours. He also loved to go to casino's.
Donald is survived by his wife Gladys and son Dean A. Clemens of Fleetwood and grandchildren Matthew M. Clemens, Alexander Spatz of Fleetwood; Monica Brown of Maidencreek Twp.and two great grandsons. He also is survived by two brothers Dennis Clemens of Hamburg and Douglas Clemens husband of Virginia Clemens of New Hope. Other survivors include niece Vicki Shucker and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Clemens.
A memorial service friends will be Friday September 23rd at 11:00AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Donald's memory to American Legion Post 625, 120 East Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522
