Dora A. Simmon, age 65, of Fleetwood, passed away Friday January 10, 2014 surrounded by her family in her residence
Born on May 25, 1948, in West Reading, she was the daughter of Dawn E. (Weitzel) Schadler Steffy of Robesonia and the late Leon W. Schadler who passed in 1988.
A graduate of Oley High School class of 1966. Receiving a certificate of home decorating.
She worked at the former Fessler USA Inc. Orwigsburg.
Dora was a devoted mother, who sacrificed all to raise her sons and make sure they had the things they needed. A valiant soldier in the battle that life often is. Brave and tough to the very end. There is no other way to express it, and no way to repay it. Accept to say we all love you always, thank you always, and we will miss you! Enjoy your new journey and the rest you so deserve.
Survived by her two son's Larry K. Simmon, Jr. and his fiancé Brenda L. Lutz of Fleetwood and Scott E. Simmon of Fleetwood. Her mother Dawn E. (Schadler) Steffy wife of Lester Steffy, Robesonia. Also surviving are sisters Peg (Schadler) McKinney of Mohrsville, Sharon (Schadler) Gottschal of Montoursville and brother Douglas L. Schadler husband of Ruth Schadler of Temple.
Preceded in death by her x husband Larry K. Simmon Sr. who passed in February of 2013 in El Paso, Texas.
A viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 7:00PM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Inurnment will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville. Family requests contributions made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, PA 19605
