Doris J. Gift, age 85, of Fleetwood, passed away on Friday morning June 16, 2017 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Gift who passed in 2006

Born in Fleetwood on April 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Russell G. Sanders and Carrie D. (Sheetz) Sanders. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fleetwood. Doris graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1950. She had worked for the former Red Cheek, Inc. for many years prior to her retirement. She also had worked recently for Tarsus, Inc. Fleetwood

Doris loved the outdoors and had fond memories of many trips to the mountains of central Pennsylvania. From her front porch, she would often watch deer frolicking on her property. Every year she enjoyed planting flower garden around her home. Her biggest joy was being surrounded by her family and joining them for a meal.

Surviving are her two sons David R. Gift husband of Sharen Gift of Fleetwood and Mark A. Gift husband of Kelly Gift of Auburn. Also granddaughter Kristie and great grandson Dreyden. Other survivors are her siblings Betty (Sanders) Gruber of Blandon, Nancy (Sanders) Schlegel of Fleetwood, Marlin Sanders of Fleetwood, Allen Sanders of Las Vegas, Debra (Sanders) Baniszeski of Dover, Pa and Bonnie (Sanders) Loy of N. Carolina.

A viewing will be Saturday June 24th from 9 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. in the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Do to construction on Main Street use Wintergreen Alley from West Washington Street.  Burial will be Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.
