Dorothy M. (Hohl) Grammes, 82, of Fleetwood, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Donald R. Grammes, with whom she shared 64 beautiful years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on August 1st. Dorothy was born in Reading and was raised by her late foster parents, John and Grace Fenstermacher.

Dorothy had a deep passion for adventure alongside her husband, Donald. Whenever he would gear up with his helmet, she would eagerly join him, ready to hit the road on their Harley. Their rides together, especially to destinations like Florida and the Great Lakes, created cherished memories. Another source of joy for Dorothy was tending to her beloved flowers, with a special fondness for her hibiscus plants. She also found solace and delight in bird watching.

Throughout her career, Dorothy dedicated 18 years of service at the former Fleetwood Sportswear.

In addition to her loving husband, Donald, she is survived by her sons, Steven M. Grammes and his wife, Teresa Grammes, and Timothy A. Grammes and his wife, Rosa Grammes. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Dotty, Angel, Daniel, step-grandchildren Steven and Austin and her six great grandchildren. Other survivors include sisters Patricia and Mickey brother George Hohl.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Scott A. Grammes, in 1997.

The services honoring Dorothy's life will be held privately, with her burial taking place in Fleetwood Cemetery. Those who wish to honor her memory may consider making contributions to Humane Society at 1729 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.
