Obituary

Dorothy A. Kline, 96, of Northumberland, PA, formerly of Blandon, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was the wife of the late Howard N. Kline who preceded her in death in 2000. She was born in Blandon the daughter of the late Charles E. Shuman and Annie E.
(Weidenheimer) Shuman.
Dorothy was a long time member of Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, Blandon, where she taught Sunday School and children's Bible School. She and her Sunday School classes began the Luther Brown Memorial Library to provide a resource for quality Christian reading. She loved books and read extensively most of her life. She taught good news clubs for Child Evangelism for many years. She was a talented teacher who always understood the needs of children.
She worked as a mail carrier for the Temple Post Office and managed the family sheep farm.
She was a gifted quilter and shared her work with friends and family. She believed in God's grace and the importance of family. For a time she helped care for her nephew Samuel Shuman, Reading and great niece Kathy Fegley, West Lawn. She deeply loved all her siblings, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchild.
She shared the gift of hospitality to all who entered her home, providing homemade baked goods, canned goods, and wonderful meals. Many will remember her homemade grape juice. She had a gift of making people feel appreciated and loved.
She is survived by one daughter, Bonita K. Troxell and her husband John of Northumberland, PA, two grandchildren, Phillip K. Troxell, of Northumberland and Gwen Troxell Castleberry and husband, Daniel of Columbia, SC. She was delighted with her great grandchild, Hazel L. Castleberry. She is also survived by her brother Donald R. Shuman.
Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers, Charles D., Harold L., James M., Steward F., Kenneth E., and a sister Anna V. Sheetz. A brother, Samuel and sister, Edna, passed away early in their lives.
Funeral services and celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, April 17, in Trinity Bible Fellowship Church, 220 Main Street, Blandon, PA. A viewing will be held Friday, April 17, at 2:00 until the time of the service. Burial will be in Saint Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood, PA.
