Dorothy M. Stitzer, 92, formerly of Pricetown passed away in her residence at Keystone Villa at Fleetwood on Thursday morning March 3, 2016. She was the wife of the late Melvin L. Stitzer who preceded her on September 27, 1991. Born in Alsace Township on October 31, 1923. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Charles Aulenbach and Hettie (Manwiller) Aulenbach
Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of Oley Valley High School. She helped on the family farm and later worked at the former Boyertown Casket Company. Dorothy in 1944 enlisted in the WAVES and served for two years.
Dorothy is survived by two children Joan M. (Stitzer) Snyder of Wyomissing and Donald R. Stitzer husband of Carla Stitzer of Breinigsville. Also grandchildren Megan Snyder, Tiffany A. (Stitzer )wife of Bryan Ellis, Lewis W. R Stitzer, husband of Julie Stitzer and Caitlin M. (Stitzer) Keim fiancée of Trevor Dieffenbach and six great grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister Ada (Aulenbach) Rohrbach of New Hampshire and a granddaughter in law Patricia M. Bramble of Plymouth Meeting.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her granddaughter Gina E. Stitzer and nine siblings Charles Aulenbach, Franklin Aulenbach, Louis Aulenbach, Easter (Aulenbach) Dautrich, Betty (Aulenbach) Strause, Helen (Aulenbach) Mayheim, Anna Aulenbach, Francis (Aulenbach) Braucher and Sarah (Aulenbach) Frederick.
A viewing will be Tuesday evening 6:00PM to 8:00PM and Wednesday 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Burial will be in Pricetown Cemetery, Pricetown
