Obituary

Edward "Eddie" James Mace, 62, passed away in his home on January 5, 2017. He was diagnosed with ALS in November 2013.

Eddie was born April 19, 1954 in York, Pennsylvania and spent most of his life in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Fleetwood H.S. and The Pennsylvania State University. He worked as a financial advisor for AXA Advisors (previously Equitable Life) for 38 years, as both an agent and a District Manager in both Myerstown and Reading, PA.

Eddie enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, hiking and biking. Eddie grew to enjoy running in the 1990's and ran in many races sponsored by the Pagoda Pacers and Pretzel City Sports.

His other true love was playing guitar, both electric and acoustic. He played in various local bands since the age of 13, some of which included Boycott Grape, Baxter, Blazing Saddles and for the last 20 years, Number Nine.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Mace (née Eisenhardt), Leesport; his son, Erich Mace, daughter-in-law, Erin, and granddaughter, Eva, Sinking Spring; father, Stephen Mace, Blandon; brother, Stephen Mace and sister-in-law, Susie, Powell's Point, NC; sister, Janice Bieber and brother-in-law, Andrew, Reading; sister, Lisa McKeon and brother-in-law, John, Fleetwood; Aunt Loretta and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Mace (née Zienkiewicz).

A viewing will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 where friends and family may visit at the Reading Dove Church, 621 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., immediately followed by a funeral service at the same location. The service will include time for anyone wishing to share memories.
Parking is available across the street from the church.
The burial will be in Pricetown Cemetery in Ruscombmanor Township.
