Elam F. Fox, Jr., Jr. 82, of Ruscombmanor Township, passed away on August 23, 2014 in Kutztown Manor. He had been in the Mifflin Center in Shillington from March 2012 moving in on August 12 of this year to Kutztown Manor. The husband of Naomi (Brownsberger) Fox. They celebrated 55 years of marriage on March 29th.
Born on May 29, 1932, in Ruscombmanor Township, the son of the late Elam B. Fox and Ruth (Freyberger) Fox.
Elam had worked as an equipment operator Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 30 years retiring in 1991. After his retirement he started Fox Orchards in Ruscombmanor Township from 1991 to 2003.
A member of Mohrsville Church of the Brethren.
For many years he was a member of the Fruit and Nut Committee for the Oley Fair.
He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. Elam is survived by his wife Naomi and two children Sylvia K. (Fox) wife of Daniel Bausher of Fleetwood and Kenneth E. Fox husband of Susan R. Fox of Timberville, VA..
Also surviving are four grandchildren: Kimberly A. (Bausher) Wentzel, Holly B. (Fox) Perryman, Dennis E. Bausher and Kenneth Andrew Fox.
Other survivors include a brother Benjamin F. Fox of Fleetwood.
He recently was preceded in death by his sister Mary F. Fox on June 29th and a brother Mark F. Fox.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Morhrsville Church of the Brethren, 1542 Shoey Road, Mohrsville. A viewing will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the church.
