Eleanor H. Schaeffer, passed away at Berks County Home, Bern Township on Tuesday July 6, 2021. She was the wife of Earl H. Schaeffer, they celebrated 57 years of marriage on April 11 ^th . Eleanor was born in New Jerusalem, Berks County, daughter of the late Ammon L. Eckert and the late Amelia B. (Hoppes) Eckert.

She graduated from Kutztown High School class of 1954.

Eleanor had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the former Harry Knittle Farm Equipment dealer, Kutztown from 1954 to 1965 and Carl M. Weber Steel Service, Inc. Topton from 1965 to 1997 when she retired.

She was a lifetime member of the former New Jerusalem United Church of Christ where she sang on the choir for 62 years and taught Sunday School for 60 years. Eleanor was a former treasurer of New Jerusalem U.C.C., Sunshine Society, Ladies Aid and Choir. Other memberships included the Ladies Auxiliary of Kutztown Fire Company and Pike Township Sportsman's Association.

She  enjoyed reading, playing cards and board games with her mother and friends.

Survived by two nieces.

Eleanor was predeceased by her two sisters Erma Henry, Dorothy Eckert and brother Ernest Eckert.

Services are private with burial in New Jerusalem Cemetery.
