Elizabeth M. Bishop, age 89, of Fleetwood, passed away on October 1, 2015. The wife of the late Robert E. Bishop who passed in 1977.
Born on April 8, 1926, in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Desmond L. Fries, Sr and Ethel R. (Lehr) Fries.
She was a graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem. Elizabeth worked for many years at her families business the former Fries Cadillac, Bethlehem. Prior to retiring in 1988 she worked for Ingersoll – Rand, Co. Bethlehem.
Elizabeth had many interest which included breeding great danes, horseback riding, creating flower gardens and caring for her fish pond. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Deborah S. (Bishop) Balestrier of Singer Island, FL, son Robin D. Bishop husband of Amy Bishop of Fleetwood. Five grandchildren John K. Bishop, Jr. of Owasso, OK, Christopher T. Bishop, Macungie, Sarah E. Bishop, Fleetwood, Rebecca Hilbert, Mertztown and Crystal Bishop. Also many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother Desmond L. Fries, Jr. of Tobyhanna, PA.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her son John K. Bishop, Sr. and brothers Robert Fries and Donald Fries.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Burial will be in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem, Pa.
