Ellen M. Bitting, age 67, of Blandon, peacefully passed away on September 13, 2014 in the Reading Hospital. The wife of Donald J. Bitting, they would have celebrated 28 years of marriage on November 21st.
Born on March 7, 1947, in Toronto, Canada the daughter of Emily (Chaulk) Cormier Grant of Oakville, Canada and the late Basil Cormier.
Ellen was a graduate of T. A. Blakelock High School, Oakville, Canada. She had been employed by W. R. Grace, Inc. Reading leaving in 2012 after 42 years. Ellen was a member of Maidencreek Church, Blandon. She served as a past president of the Fleetwood Area School Board and past president the Blandon Lioness Club.
She was a very loving and devoted mother who loved being with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. Ellen loved playing bingo and going to the casinos.
Ellen is survived by her husband Skip and children Leann S. Curtis, Harrisburg, Jill M. Curtis, Mt. Penn and Jared P. Bitting husband of Rebecca L. Bitting of Macungie. Also grandchildren Zachary Martin, Nathan Wolfskill, Martin Wolfskill, Emily Wolfskill, Toby Curtis, Kenneth Reinstein, Jr., Ashley Reinstein and Logan Bitting.
One great granddaughter Bailey Martin.
Also surviving are three siblings Paul Cormier, Oakville, Canada, Ken Cormier, Oakville, Canada and Maureen Craig, Parkhill, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Bryan Kline and brother John Cormier.
A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A service will be at the convenience of the family with interment in Maidencreek Cemetery.
