Elsie R Madtes, age 92, passed away on March 26, 2014. She had been a resident of DayView Care Center in New Carlisle, Ohio since 2009. She was the wife of the John L. Madtes who passed in 1995. Born April 1, 1921 in Fleetwood, PA. she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Reifsnyder) Moyer.

Elsie was employed as a cafeteria manager for 27 years at the Fleetwood Area School District until she retired in 1983. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood, PA.

Survived by; a son, Donald (Sharon) Madtes of Fairborn, Ohio, granddaughter Alison (Nicholas) Latino of Fairborn, Ohio, and grandson Matthew (Angela) Madtes of Gibsonia, PA. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Ava and Anthony Latino and Anna Madtes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Madtes, and son Kenneth Dale Madtes.

Funeral services will be Tuesday April 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing will be from 9:00 AM to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery.
