Ernest C. Weller, Jr. 67, of Fleetwood, passed away on May 15, 2014 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. The husband of Brenda J. (Fegley) Weller, with whom, he recently celebrated 24 years of marriage on April 11th.
Born on February 21, 1947, in Pottsville, the son of Ethel M. (Schappell) Weller of Fleetwood and the late Earnest C. Weller, Sr.
He was a 1966 graduate of Fleetwood Hugh School. A graduate of Goldey Beacom College, Wilmington, Delaware.
Ernie was the owner of Riverside Lottery, Center Avenue, Reading for the last 24 years. A member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood and Horace M. Kieffer Post 625 of the American Legion in Fleetwood where he was an active member. Other memberships included Son of the American Legion and Temple Fire Company. Ernie began the annual Fleetwood Community Golf Scholarship Tournament where a scholarship was given to a Fleetwood High School student each year.
He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and supporting local high school sports teams. He enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas with his poker friends. Ernie was a avid Philadelphia sports team fan and was known for organizing trips to the Phillies and Eagle games. He loved playing sports and excelled in playing baseball, softball, basketball, golfing and bowling.
Ernie is survived by his wife Brenda and four children Ernest C. Weller III husband of Melissa Weller of Temple, Todd A. Weller, Fleetwood, Laura J. wife of Seth T. Walizer of Fleetwood, Leslie J. Kemmerer companion of Glenn Harrar of Flying Hills.
Also surviving are four grandchildren: Makenzie Weller, Madelyn J. Walizer, Katie E. Walizer and Emma J. Walizer.
Other survivors include a sister Cynthia A. (Weller) Bausher wife of Danny Bausher of Delaware.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 noon in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. A visitation will be held 10:00a.m. to 12:00 noon. At the church. If attending the service, please wear your favorite sports team attire. Inurnment will be private.
