Esta B. Readinger, age 95, formerly of Rockland Township, passed away on Wednesday November 9, 2011 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township She was the widow of the late Earl B. Readinger who passed December 22, 1997.
Born in Rockland Twp., the daughter of the late Warren K. and Lizzie (Sterner) Boyer.
She was employed by the former C.A. Wanner Co. Fleetwood and the former Deisher Knitting Mill, Kutztown retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, Dryville and over a 50 year member of the Fleetwood Grange.
An avid quilter, she made quilts for all of her children and grandchilren.
Esta is survived by five children: Daniel B. husband of Joan Readinger of Delaware, Alfred B. Readinger of Oley, Vera B. (Readinger) widow of Max Smarr of Mertztown, Samuel B. husband of Michele Readinger of Fleetwood, and Fern B. (Readinger) widow of Joel Fritz of Hamburg. She is also survived by two sisters Cora (Boyer) Haas of Fleetwood and Minerva (Boyer) Gauker of Fleetwood. Other survivors include 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Joel B. Readinger and daughter Mary Esta Readinger.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Dryville.
