Ethan E. Weidner, resident of Fleetwood, PA, was born in Stony Run, Berks, PA, on December 23, 1938, and peacefully departed on December 27, 2023, at Country Meadows of Wyomissing, Reading, PA.
Ethan's journey began at Fleetwood High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1957. On October 14, 1961, he embarked on a lifelong partnership with Joy L. (Schaeffer) Weidner, sharing 59 years of love and companionship until her passing on October 26, 2020. His professional journey led him to a 23-years at Mack Truck.
Beyond the workplace, Ethan was an active member of the Lyons Fire Company and Alsace Manor Fire Company. His faith found expression at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fleetwood.
Ethan lived life with various interests, including motorcycling, hunting, going on cruises, and cheering for Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies. He found joy in the adrenaline of stock car racing at Reading Fairgrounds and the camaraderie of shooting pool.
Ethan leaves behind his sister, LaRue Hoffman, nieces, Dorene Byler, Tracy Hoffman, nephews Ralph Lebo Jr., Dewey Landis and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He is fondly remembered alongside his wife, Joy L. (Schaeffer) Weidner; father, Ellis Weidner; mother, Meada J. (Rauch) Weidner; and sisters, Dorothea, Marlowe, and Ardith A. (Weidner) Heckman.
The funeral arrangements include family visitation at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 4th, 2024, at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 W. Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Thomas Lang officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Paul's Union Cemetery.
