Evelyn Ida Gehret, 94, of Fleetwood, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA.

Born April 8, 1931, in Hamburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harvy and Cecila (Hottenstein) Heinly. Evelyn was the wife of the late Richard Gehret.

She was employed for many years with the various iterations of Lucent Technologies. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, especially taking long car rides and spending time at the family property in Sullivan County. She also loved watching wildlife, reading, and crafting decorative pillows.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Debra Weidner, of Fleetwood; son, Glenn Gehret; grandson, Greg Katerman; granddaughter, Erin Reitnauer; and great-grandsons, Gregory Katerman, Brandon Katerman, Cain Reitnauer, and Joshua Reitnauer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four sisters and one brother.

A private graveside service will be held at Becker's St. Peter's Cemetery, Fleetwood.
