Faye R. Buckalew

Faye R. Buckalew of Fleetwood, PA passed away peacefully after a fierce battle with cancer on 23 August 2026. She was the daughter of the late Robert J. Buckalew and Flora J. (Kissinger) Buckalew. She is survived by a sister, Flora C. Buckalew, and several cousins, Paul Heavener (and wife Rebecca), Janet Piat (and husband John), Mark Heavener (and wife Susan), and Cheryl Kissinger, widow of her cousin John Kissinger.

Faye was a graduate of Fleetwood Area High School, Kutztown University, The College of William and Mary, and Brooklyn Law School. All of this education prepared her for a variety of jobs from tutor to stagehand, but her longest running job was with Universal Music Group and its predecessors, using her law skills to assess contract compliance, ensuring that artists are fairly compensated.

When not studying or working, Faye enjoyed a variety of hobbies. She played several musical instruments including the piano, recorder, and bagpipes, playing for several years with a band in New York. She also enjoyed walking and hiking, gardening, baking, knitting, and, of course, reading. She was also one of the founding members of The Messengers drama group at St. Paul's UCC. She also liked to volunteer for local non-profits, such as the food bank in Fleetwood, the Dreibelbis Family Farm, and others.

She was smart, funny, kind, and fair and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to one of her favorite causes: Dreibelbis Family Farm, The Mifflinburg Buggy Museum, or Hawk Mountain Sanctuary.

Services will be held at St. Paul's UCC, 5 W Arch St, Fleetwood, PA 19522, where she was a member, on Sunday August 30th. With a visitation from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, service at 1:00 PM, and interment at St. Paul's Union Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at maestumpfuneralhome.com
