Fenton V. Barto, age 85, Fleetwood passed away on Monday March 19, 2018, in Penn State Health St. Joseph, Bern Township. He was the husband of Mary Ellen (Brown) Barto, they celebrated their 65 years of marriage on August the 9 th 2017.
Born in Reading the son of the late William Barto and Mabel (Angstadt) Barto.
A veteran of the U S Army.
Fenton worked for R. W. Eaken Co. Leesport as a truck driver for 25 years retiring in 1994.
He was a volunteer Fire Policeman serving at the Leesport Fire Co. for many years and later for the Fleetwood Fire Co. He was a life member of the Fire Police Association of Berks County. He also was a driver for Western Berks Ambulance Association. Fenton loved racing and was push truck driver for stock cars at the Reading Fairgrounds. He was a diehard Eagles fan who waited a long time for them to win a super bowl
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen and children Keith A. Barto, Lori A. Barto, and Kevin W. Barto companion of Linda Giles. Also are three grandchildren Michael, Christopher, and Rickie. There are also four great grandchildren Madison, McKenzi, Morgan and Kendall.
Fenton was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be Saturday March 24 th from 10:00AM to 11:00AM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM with Rev. Patrick W. Morris officiating.
Inurnment will be at 11:00AM on Monday 26 th in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, with military honors by the U S Army.
