Gary D. Bieber

Gary D. Bieber, 80, of Alburtis, Pennsylvania, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital on September 24, 2026.

Gary was born on July 17, 1946, the only child of George D. Bieber and Bette C. Hilbert.

He was a graduate of Fleetwood High School. Following high school, Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1971 with the rank of Sergeant.

After working several different jobs, Gary began what would become the majority of his working career with Bieber Tourways. He worked as a Line Driver for 33½ years before retiring in 2011. In 2000 he was awarded a Million Mile award for one million miles of safe driving and in 2006 The Pennsylvania Bus Association awarded him the Driver of Distinction.

Gary was a Lifetime Member of Ray A. Masters American Legion Post 217, the VFW, the Catholic War Vets in Emmaus, and Lucky AA in Reading. He was also a member of the Macungie Veterans Association in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Gary valued the friendships and camaraderie he found through these organizations and the people who became an important part of his life.

Gary loved life, his wife, his family, and his many friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always good for a laugh. He promised his wife, Helen, that there would never be a dull moment. Although the two of them sometimes disagreed about exactly what constituted "dull," Gary certainly kept his promise.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Helen; his daughter, Rhonda; and his grandsons, Ian and Keegan and his son, Jason (Melissa) . He is also survived by his nephews and nieces, Bryan Clinton and his wife, Jenna; Kelly Kremmel and her husband, Anthony; Tracy Hodanich and her husband, Andrew; and Father Nicholas Clinton, along with 12-yes, 12-grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Gary will be remembered for his love of life, his quick wit, his devotion to his family and friends, and the countless memories and laughs he shared with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522. Viewings will be held at the funeral home Thursday, October 1, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Ray A. Masters American Legion Post 217 Honor Guard, honoring Gary's proud service to his country and his honorable discharge from the United States Army.
