Gary R. Guinther, 61, of Rockland Township, lost his four year battle against cancer with his wife and family by his side. He passed on February 8, 2014, in his residence.
He was the husband of Linda M. (Readinger) Guinther, they were married 41 years in May.
Born January 18, 1953, in Allentown the son of Mamie L. (Kline) Guinther of Fleetwood and the late Robert J. Guinther.
Gary was the owner of Guinther's Auto Body in Rockland Township from 1982 to 2010. Where he took exceptional pride in his work. Prior to 1990 he had worked at the former Caloric Corporation in Topton for 19 years.
He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Other memberships included the Lyons Fire Company, Ray Master's American Legion Post 216 in Topton, Pike Township Sportsman Club, Mertztown Gun Club, Blandon Fire Co. and the Reading Motorcycle Club where he enjoyed socializing with fellow members and family. His favorite past time was motorcycling, hunting and relaxing by a campfire.
Gary was a devoted husband, father and grandfather he will be greatly missed by his wife Linda and daughter's Sheila M. (Guinther) wife of Dan Gehman of Fleetwood, Tina L. (Guinther) wife of Jason Howell of Blandon, Tanya S. (Guinther) wife of George Cassidy of Copperas Cove, Texas and grandchildren Courtney Mengel, Brandon Mengel, Aiden Cassidy, Kaylee Cassidy and Jayna Howell.
Funeral services will be Saturday February 15th at 11:00 AM from the Mae A. Stump funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing and visitation will be from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. Burial will be in New Jerusalem Cemetery. Contributions can be made to Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd. Suite 1, Reading, PA 19610
