Gary L. Wert, Sr., age 69 of Fleetwood, died unexpectedly of natural causes in his residence on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

He was the loving husband of Mary Ann (Dimovitz) Wert and they where married 49 years.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Paul. H. and Mary E. (Berg) Wert.

He graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1961 where he played golf and basketball earning a varsity letter in golf. Gary was also a graduate of the Bryland Institute of Beauty Culture, Reading.

For several years he owned his own beauty shop in Allentown and then in Fleetwood. He later worked for Caloric Corporation in Topton for 18 years and then the Hitchcock Group for several years, retiring in 2004.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons, playing golf with his daughter and son-in-law, hiking, walking, riding bike around town, and spending time with his family. Most importantly, he was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all wh0 knew him.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children: Gary L. Jr., husband of Cindy (Young) Wert, Fleetwood; Keith B. Wert, Fleetwood; and Michelle (Wert) Diezel, wife of Gary L., Fleetwood.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, Gary L. Wert, III and Brandon L. Wert, both of Fleetwood.
Funeral service will be Friday June 22nd at 11:00AM.
