George I. Boyer, 95, of Tower Court, Topton, formerly of Boyer's Junction and Fleetwood, passed away on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 in the Henry Health Center at the Lutheran Home Topton.
He was the husband of the late Hilda E. (Weidner) Boyer who passed on Sept. 17, 2009.
Born in Rockland Township, he was the son of the late Forest K. Boyer and Bertha B. (Kniss) Boyer.
He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Other memberships included Rockland Gun Club and Lyons Fire Company.
George had worked at Mack Truck, Inc., Allentown for 20 1/2 years. Prior to working for Mack Truck he was the owner of the former Moselem Orchards in Richmond Township.
George was an avid fisherman and hunter. Other interests were playing pinochle and hawsey. He also loved gardening.
George is survived by two children, Kaaren B. (Boyer), wife of Dr. C.S. Orquiza of Wyomissing, and Kieth W. Boyer, and wife, JoAnne Boyer of Lyon Station.
Also surviving are two grandchildren, M. Elisa Orquiza, and husband Maurice Brown, Orange Park, Fla.; and Clodualdo Orquiza III, M.D., and wife, Priya Wagle, M.D., Linwood, N.J.; and four great-grandchild-ren: Isaac Brown-Orquiza, Lucas Orquiza, Julian Or-quiza and Vivi Orquiza. Other survivors are three stepgreat-grandchildren, Chelsea Brown, Candice Brown and Paul Brown.
George was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen (Boyer) Welder, and Dorothy (Boyer) Scheidt, and brother, Elwood K. Boyer.
Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522. A viewing will be from 10 a.m. to time of service. Contributions can be made to the memorial fund of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church..
