Obituary
George C. Miller, 72, of Boyertown, passed away on February 4, 2013 at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bern Township. He was the husband of Sallie E. (Hoch) Miller, they had been married 13 years on August 7, 2012.
George was born on April 10, 1940 in Philadelphia. He was the son of the late George A. Miller and the late Elizabeth H. (Colston) Miller.
He graduated from Mastbaum Vocational Technical School in Philadelphia and later attended Philadelphia College of Art and Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia. He served in the U S Army from 1963 to 1965 and spent four years in the Army reserves.
George was a self employed commercial artist and sign maker in 1973 he opened his business the George C. Miller Signs in Boyertown. Prior to this business, he had a print shop in Philadelphia.
His interest included flying five foot kites, going to Cape May, New Jersey,and playing his guitar. He enjoyed going to the Boyertown Gun Club for target shooting. Being a member of the N.R.A.,Unite PA – 912 and the Tea Party. He loved watching old movies, camping and going to Zerns Market. He was an avid vegetable gardener, and loved driving his Vespa and dancing to the oldies.
Surviving is his wife Sallie, three daughters Lisa E. (Miller) Augustine of Sinking Spring; Sharon E. Miller of Douglassville and Susan D. ((Miller) wife of Charles R. Groff of Boyertown. Also one stepson Timothy R. Haydt and his wife Sabrina L. Haydt of Jonestown. Other survivors include five grandchildren Jousha A. Augustine, Robert A. Augustine, Melissa I. Augustine, Emma C. Groff and Jared A. Groff. One Great Grandson Grayson J. Keppen..
Other survivors include a brother Robert F. Miller of Philadelphia..
Funeral services will be Friday February 8th at 11:00AM from the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Maidencreek Road, Fleetwood, PA. A viewing will be Thursday evening from 7:00PM to 9:00PM from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood and from10:00 AM to time of service at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P. O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
