Gearld D. Plucker, age 71, of Blandon, passed away on April 13, 2014 in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Husband of Nancy L. (Hess) Plucker. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on November 23rd.
Born on February 20, 1943, in Gallup, New Mexico. He was the son of the late Gerald P.and Arrina (Roose) Plucker.
Gerald retired from Lehigh Cement after 25 years. He then became the coffee man at the Blandon Turkey Hill for four years.
He was a life member of NRA who loved hunting. Other interests included woodworking and stamp collecting. His interest in the Civil War was well known and his collection of books filled a bookcase. The time he spent with his grandchildren was invaluable.
Survived by his wife Nancy and son's Tony A. Plucker husband of Mary Plucker of Blandon and Mark D. Plucker husband of Stephanie Plucker of Blandon. Also surviving are six grandchildren Austin Plucker, Colton Plucker, Alex Plucker, Taylor Plucker, Sydney Plucker and Jeremy Plucker. Other survivors include a brother Alvin Plucker husband of Jeanie Plucker of Colorado and two sisters Penny (Plucker) Parker wife of David Parker of Kansas and Shirley (Plucker) Filsinger wife of Kenny Filsinger of Missouri. Also many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. A viewing also will be Thursday 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
