Gerald T. Schwartz, 83 of Rockland Township passed away in The Lutheran Home at Topton on Tuesday February 12, 2019. He was the husband of Charlotte L. (Esterly) Schwartz; they celebrated 57 years of marriage on January 25.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Joseph Schwartz and Leona (Spangler) Schwartz.
Gerald was a carpenter with the Carpenters Union Local 214, Reading for 43 years working first with C. H. Schlegel Co. and last working for Edward A. Reider, Inc. Reading retiring in 1997.
Gerald loved deep sea fishing and clamming in Delaware. He loved taking his motor home camping especially going to Florida. Gerald and Charlotte loved country line dancing and really enjoyed Charlotte sing Patsy Kline songs.
Gerald is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Kelly A. (Schwartz) Cox of Fleetwood, Jill (Schwartz) wife of Michael Dryden, Reading, and Jody (Schwartz) Schemel of West Reading. Sons Mark Schwartz husband of Hope Schwartz of Fleetwood and David J. Schwartz husband of Elizabeth Schwartz of Fleetwood. Also grandchildren: Michael, Taylor, Wade, Nathan, Kristin, Zila, Straden, Alexandra, Katelin, Mark Jr, Krstyn and Madisyn. Great grandchildren: Gabiel, Maryetta, Elia, Elizabeth, Isabella, Maximilian, Kalin, Jason, Mason, Jackson and Cora. Great great-children: Mila and Jane.. Also a sister Janice. Gerald was preceded in death by siblings: Arline Elaine and Matthew.
A viewing will be on Saturday February 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Gerald to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4550 Montgomery Avenue, Suite 1100N, Bethesda, MD 20814.
