Phillips
November 16, 1933 – October 4, 2023
Glenn Mahlon 'Flip' Phillips, 90, of Keystone Villa and formally of Fleetwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. He was the son of Andrew M. Phillips and Elsie 'Hunsberger' Phillips. He proudly served his country in the army in 1953-55. He was predeceased by his best friend and the love of his life Darlene R. (Dellinger) Phillips, who passed away on January28, 2021. They were inseparable since the 7th grade and had celebrated 68 years of marriage. In high school, he was a multiple 'letter winner' in sports and his favorite subjects were shop class, gym class & lunch!!
While in the army, he was stationed in Frankfurt (West) Germany, and loved it. He also was a very good softball player often bemoaning the fact that no one played ball the way that they did 'back in the day'. He was a fan of all Phila. sports teams -especially the Phillies. Glenn was a retiree of Carpenter Technology.
He also had.been a community leader. He had served on the Fleetwood Borough Council, was a Cub Scout leader & Boy Scout leader, He also coached numerous baseball & softball teams, and was a member of the Fleetwood Fire Company and Ambulance Crew. He also had been very active serving on the church board and holding other offices within the church & Sunday School. He loved to reminisce about his childhood, his school days, and the pranks that he and the 'old gang' would pull, and his time in Germany.
He is survived by four sons: Mark A. (Donna) of Blandon; Scott A. (Lynn) of Fleetwood; Craig A. (Meg) of Blandon; and Dean A. (Ellen) of Fleetwood. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
