Irene L. Barth, 91, of Blandon, formerly of Reading passed away on Wednesday April 26, 2017 in the Reading Hospital Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Samuel A. Barth, Sr. who passed in 2012.

Born on April 17, 1926, in Reading the daughter of the late Walter and Lottie Debowski.

Irene  started working for Western Electric Reading Works which became AT&T and retired as a Lucent employee.

She loved going on long walks and crocheting. She was very generous and kind person. She knit hundreds of afghans and prayer shawls giving them all away.

Irene is survived by her daughter in law Kathleen M. (Hoffman) Barth of Fleetwood; granddaughter Amy M. (Barth) Capozzi fiancé of Keith Noll of Fleetwood and one great granddaughter Gina Capozzi.

She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Sr. and son Samuel A. Barth, Jr. in 2014.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery.

The family would especially like to thank the nursing staff at Reading Hospital Medical Center for the care they gave Irene and Heartland Hospice for the compassion that was received.
