Irvin D. Snyder, age 96, of Maidencreek Township, passed peacefully on Sunday March 20 2022 at Willow Brook Health Center, Kutztown. He was the husband of the late Lovie V. (Heffner) Snyder, who passed in 1980. Born in Maidencreek Township to the late Abner and Jennie (Dries) Snyder.
Irvin worked at Allentown Cements, Evansville, for 41 years retiring in 1987. He served in the U S Army during World War II. He loved the outdoors, especially enjoyed deer hunting. Throughout the year he would take many trips to the Evansville Hunting Camp in Clinton County. His other interest was gardening, which always included a potato patch.
He is survived by his son James A. husband of Susan (George) Snyder of Fleetwood and daughter Anita Y. Klemm wife of Andrew Bortz of Muhlenberg. Also grandchildren Jeremy Foose, Zachary Foose and Jennie (Snyder) Stralo. Two great grandchildren Emily Foose and JJ Foose.
He also has a sister Verna (Snyder) Krick.
Irvin is predeceased by his wife Lovie, son John Snyder, daughter Carol A. (Snyder) Seidel and siblings Walter Snyder, Morris Snyder, Victor Snyder, Mabel (Snyder) Blessing, Helen (Snyder) Gristick, Dorothy (Snyder) Merkel and Betty (Snyder) Heinly.
A viewing will be held at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood, on Thursday March 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Becker's St. Peter's Cemetery, Molltown.
Contributions can be made in memory of Irvin to the Becker's St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 265 Maidencreek Road, Fleetwood, PA 19522.
