J. Robert "Bob" Schaeffer, 93, formerly of Richmond Road, Fleetwood, PA passed away in the Berks Heim on January 13. 2017. He was a resident there for 4 years.

Bob was the son of the late Henry M. and Helen (Dietrich) Schaeffer. He was also the long-term companion of Lois Ungvary who passed away in October 2013.

He graduated from Fleetwood High School and attended Lebanon Valley College. Bob was retired for many years last working for Van Heusen Clothing as well as a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Fleetwood, PA.

Bob is survived by his daughter Stacey. Additional survivors include his brother Darwin H. Schaeffer and his wife Yolanda M. Schaeffer, of Kutztown, PA; two nieces: Kay (Schaeffer) Boran of Orwigsburg, PA, wife of Dr. Thomas Boran, and Vicki (Schaeffer) Burkett of Adel Iowa, wife of Chris Burkett; and, Lois's sons Rob, Mike, and Jeff Ungvary. We like to thank them for all the care they gave Bob especially Rob, who gave care, help, and love to Bob while he was at Berks Heim.

Bob thoroughly enjoyed Big Band music especially The Harry James Orchestra. He was a highly accomplished trumpeter playing in bands such as Band of Berks, the Herman Miller Sylvanians, Philharmonic, Cadet, and Centerport for many
years. Bob was also honored for his 47 years of playing with the Ringgold Band of Reading, Pa.

A memorial and life celebration for Bob is planned for Spring 2017 near Fleetwood Cemetery where Bob is buried. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to a charity of your choice in Bob's name.
