John Henry Stitzer, of Fleetwood, Pa., died on September 10, 2017, in his Fleetwood, Pa., residence. Born in Oley, Pa., on February 24, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles F. Stitzer and Lillie Mae (Manmiller) Stitzer.
He attended Fleetwood Area High School and was an Army veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Stitzer Auto Body Shop for more than 60 years.
Surviving are three nieces: Carol A. (Stitzer) Lewis ,of Fleetwood; Cheryl L. (Stitzer) Harner, of Fleetwood; and Tina R. (Oswald) Hertzog, of Hamburg; and a nephew, Maynard G. Stitzer, of Temple. There are also several great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Elsie A. Oswald, Catharine M. Stitzer; and brothers, Charles D. and Lester G.
A viewing will be held Saturday the 16th of September from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m from the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 W. Main St., Fleetwood. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John's UCC Church, 3713 Pricetown Road, Pricetown, Pa.
Due to road construction on Main Street in Fleetwood, follow detour signs to the intersection of Washington Street and Richmond Street where directions will be posted.
