Janice L. Meals, age 76, of Fleetwood, passed away on Thursday February 4, 2016 in her residence, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Kenneth R. Meals who passed in May of 2001.
Born on November 30, 1939 in Dryville, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Hieter and Irene (Weidner) Hieter.
Janice was a graduate of Fleetwood High School class of 1957, and Reading Business School. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.
Janice worked as a health insurance adjuster, having worked for Aetna Insurance Co., Travelers Insurance Co. and retiring from The Loomis Company, Wyomissing in 2002. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Janice is survived by her children: James M. Meals of Fleetwood, Thomas K. Meals husband of Dana Meals, Douglassville, and Kristel D. (Meals) wife of Dwayne Smith, Barto. Also her grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, Justin, Christian, Dawson and Danielle. Other survivors include her two sisters: Joyce E. (Hieter) wife of Clifford Seipel, Montville, NJ, and Sandra D. (Hieter) wife of Roy Adams of Fleetwood.
A family visitation, will be on Saturday February 13th from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 117 E. Arch St, Fleetwood. Followed by a memorial service at 11:00 in the church.
