Jean M. Shollenberger age 85, of Maidencreek Township, passed away in Reading Hospital Medical Center on October 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late Francis W. Shollenberger who passed on August 8, 1996. They had been married fifty years.
Born on December 6, 1926 in Mohrsville, she was the daughter of the late David H. and Edith D. (Miller) Stoudt.
Jean and her husband Francis were farmers in Maidencreek Township. She spent the last 66 years working the farm with her family, last working on Wednesday.
A member of Maidencreek Church in Blandon, where she devoted many years to the Altar Guild. Other memberships included being a sixty year member of the Pennsylvania Farmer's Association.
Surviving are children David E. Shollenberger, Fleetwood, Michael W. and his wife Fay Shollenberger, Fleetwood, Holly A. (Shollenberger) wife of Scott Smith, Muhlenberg and Neal F. Shollenberger, Fleetwood. Grandchildren Jason Shollenberger, Daniel Shollenberger. Katie (Shollenberger) Slemmer and Amanda Shollenberger. One great grandson Baiden Slemmer. Also one sister Myrl M. (Stoudt) Seigfried, Hamburg.
Other survivors include several nieces and a nephew.
Graveside Services will be Tuesday October 9th at 11:00 AM from Fairview Cemetery of Center Township at Belleman's Church. Contributions can be made to the memorial fund of Maidencreek Church, 261 Main Street, Blandon, PA 19510
