John P. McCormick, age 69, of Fleetwood, passed away on Sunday September  17, 2017 in Manorcare Sinking Springs. He was the husband of Mary J. (Hower) McCormick, who were married on September 16, 1972.

Born on October 3, 1947, in Primus PA. He was the son of the late George P. and Catherine L. (Grugan) McCormick.

John had worked as the Golf Course Superintendent of Berkleigh Country Club for 40 years. John had also worked at the Green Valley Golf Course and Green Acres Golf Club.

He was a member of the Horace M. Kieffer American Legion Post #625, where he had served as a board member. John had been a president of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Berks County. John was also a base guitar player and vocalist for many area bands which included 15 ^th & Union and Iron Horse.

John is survived by his wife Mary J. and three daughters; Keri C. (McCormick) wife of Tony Moyer of Fleetwood, Kelly C. (McCormick) Smith of Mohrsville, and Erin E. McCormick of Wilmington DE. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cassidy Smith and Colin Smith.
