John P. R. Barlet, Jr., 87, of Kutztown, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on March 12, 2025. Born on August 24, 1937, in Fleetwood, PA, John was the son of the late John P. R. Barlet and Minerva (Shittler) Barlet.
John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957, stationed in Germany. He married Dorothy M. Barlet, on October 27, 1956, in St. Paul's Chapel. Together they built a wonderful life filled with family and friends.
John worked diligently for Caloric for 37½ years, leaving a lasting impression through his dedication and strong work ethic. He was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and a proud member of the American Legion.
An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed camping, hunting, attending auctions, and spending countless hours playing cards with family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Barlet, and his children: daughter Debra (Barlet) Fink of Krumsville, PA; son Steven Barlet of Mertztown, PA; son Randolph Barlet of Mertztown, PA; and daughter Sandra (Barlet) Bosch of Oley, PA. He leaves behind grandchildren Jeremy Barlet, Andrew Barlet, Bradley Bosch, Jennifer (Bosch) Weinman, Courtney Kulp, Jamie (Barlet) Taucher, and Ryan Barlet. He is also survived by siblings Barbara L. (Barlet) Burkert, Earl S. Barlet, Jerry L. Barlet Sr., and Raymond N. Barlet Sr. He was preceded in death by brothers Paul W. Barlet Sr., Lester W. Barlet Sr., and Gary L. Barlet.
Family and friends are invited to honor John's memory during a viewing beginning at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch Street, Fleetwood, PA. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd., Fleetwood, PA.
