Joseph R. Smith, Jr., age 77, of Blandon, passed away on Friday March 3, 2023. Joseph was the husband of Georgeann C. (Holton) Smith. They were married on August 29, 1970 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. He was born on December 19, 1945 in Summit, New Jersey, the son of the late Joseph R. Smith, Sr. and Elizabeth (Painter) Smith.

Joseph was a U. S. Navy veteran who served on the U.S.S. Maurey during the Vietnam War. He retired after 32 years as Director of Public Works for Chatham Township, New Jersey. He moved to Blandon in 2008.  Joseph loved golf and worked at Rich Maiden Golf Course, Fleetwood since retiring from Chatham Township. While in New Jersey, he spent many years coaching soccer, softball, and baseball and served as a mentor for young athletes. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He had a passion for golf and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his dog Lucy.

Joseph is survived by wife Georgeann, son Adam J. Smith, husband of Tricia Smith and daughter Amy C. (Smith) Badolato, wife of Cesare Badolato. He had five grandchildren, Coley Smith, Nicholas Badolato, Emma Smith Matthew Badolato and Zachary Smith. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Ron Budis, Tracy Budis, Sherry Cavadini, and Sandie Renken.

Joseph was preceded in death by a brother Robert A. Smith..

A visitation will be Wednesday, March 8th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00AM officiated by Rev. John W. Folk. Services will be held at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood.
