Joyce Arlene (Turns) Hottenstein of Fleetwood, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the age of 81. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Morris E. Hottenstein, Jr. She was born in Dauphin County and lived in various places around the Reading area throughout her childhood. She graduated from Reading High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper and a teller throughout her life. She retired after working at Fleetwood Bank for many years.
Joyce's name was fitting because she not only had a joyful life, but also brought joy to all who knew her. She always said life began when she met Morris. She faithfully read her bible every morning and happily participated in various activities and committees at St. Paul's UCC, Fleetwood. She recently enjoyed participating in Red Hat Ladies' events and Bingo. She often had a puzzle to assemble or was solving puzzles of some kind like word searches and Sudoku puzzles. In her younger days, she had a lot of fun on various bowling teams. Lately, she would be bowling on her iPad with lots of cheers being heard. She loved reading books, one of her favorite authors was Danielle Steel. She had many fond memories of her times at the cabin in the mountains. Her favorite conversations were with her brother, Thom Sanders, on FaceTime. Family was often the basis to her happiest times.
She is survived by her two children: Sandra A. Eberly and David A. Hottenstein, Sr. husband of Shelly Hottenstein, whom she loved as a child of her own. Also surviving are her four grandchildren David A. Hottenstein, Jr., Amanda L. Hottenstein, Rachel L. Eberly, and Megan M. Eberly. She recently became a great grandma to Nicole E. Hartz.
You may join her family to celebrate her life at Mae Stump Funeral Home 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood.
