Kathleen Mary Snyder Herman, 92, died on April 22, 2022, at Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville where she had been a resident since 2019.

Kathleen was born in Fleetwood, PA to Mary Miller Snyder and Ray Snyder and attended and graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1947. She attended Reading Business Institute and most of her working years were in the employ of the First National Bank in Fleetwood. She later worked as a teacher's aide at the St. Paul's UCC Nursery School.

In November 1950, Kathleen married Carl H. Herman, also of the Class of 1947. They enjoyed 43 years of a wonderful marriage when Carl died unexpectedly in 1994. The marriage produced two devoted daughters: Marta K. Herman, Spring City, and Nadine C. Herman, wife of Peter Bednowicz, Bernville.

Kathleen was a lifelong member of St. Paul's UCC Fleetwood, where she was active in the Women's Guild, serving as an officer and participating in the many projects. She sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. As a charter member of the Fleetwood Area Historical Society, she served as recording secretary and longtime Board member. She gave freely of her time and talents to various charities and helped many people throughout her lifetime.

Kathleen was a dog lover and enjoyed working outdoors, taking pride in her flower gardens in her younger years.  She always treasured the company of people of all ages and made new and lifelong friends along the way. She kept in touch with childhood friends her entire life.

In addition to her daughters, she is survived by three nieces, two nephews, two great-nephews, a great-niece and a great-great niece.

Services will be graveside in Fleetwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Mae A. Stump Funeral Home in Fleetwood has charge of arrangements.
