Kevin D. Caruso

Oct 5, 1959 — Jul 30, 2026

Kevin Caruso, 66, of Wyomissing, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Born on October 5, 1959, in Reading, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna Elizabeth (Gilmore) Caruso.

Kevin worked for many years as a supervisor at Pennsylvania Optical/Bonneau Industries, and later ran his own business as a self-employed courier, providing document transport services for banks.

Kevin had a deep love for animals and the natural world, finding joy in his pets, wildlife, and birds. Over the course of his life he adopted four dogs and a cat, raised a robin from the moment it hatched all the way to adulthood, and even befriended a family of skunks. When he wasn't caring for the creatures around him, he loved motorcycling, surf fishing, and vacationing along North Carolina's Outer Banks.

For the last ten-plus years, Kevin resided at Beechwood Neuro Rehab following an acquired traumatic brain injury that left him permanently disabled. He faced that chapter of his life with remarkable spirit, participating actively and enthusiastically in his therapies and, for a time, in the facility's Equestrian Program.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Chrissada (Zogas) Caruso, of Wyomissing; his sister, Charlanne (Caruso) Kurtz, of Reading; and his sister, Darlene (Trout) Ianniello, of Staten Island, New York. He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.

A celebration of Kevin's life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16th, at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 W. Main Street, Fleetwood, PA 19522.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to any of the following. Donations may be made to Humane Pennsylvania by check payable to Humane Pennsylvania, 1729 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604, or online at HumanePA.org.
